Love in a Garden: What Happens After Happily Ever After by Mia Jasper (Romance)
Narration:
I’m not sure where the story was recorded because the overall sound quality is somewhat suppressed. The narration is performed by the author, Mia Jasper. She doesn’t have a male voice, but all of her dialogue is conveyed well. Her reading in between the conversations needs to be more engaging and energetic. However, the pacing is just right for the story.
Book Review: Love in a Garden: What Happens After Happily Ever After
I like the premise of Love in a Garden: a cameo view of life after the wedding day has progressed into the months and years of the familiar.
A drawback to this fiction is that there are elements of exaggerated drama that feel out of place. These elements are present in the behavior of both the husband and the wife. At the same time, there are realistic concerns by both husband and wife that work to create and maintain tension and empathy.
Even though the audio is only twenty-six minutes in length, the story does not feel rushed because it takes advantage of the reality of married life to which people can easily relate. In other words, there is much going on that doesn’t need to be explained.
As a romantic vignette, if you can adjust to the misplaced drama, the story is worth listening to. In addition, a longer work by this author might warrant investigating. Her writing style is clean, visual, and in this particular story, gives readers a persuasive look at what can happen “after happily ever after.”
